This week featured 2 guest speakers, both professionals who are involved in producing content that is published digitally. On Monday Pekka Tuominen from digi people came to tell about his work and shared some interesting insight on how they create commercials and different kind of materials for their clients. Basis of their work is clear; Pictures tell the story so much more effectively than words alone. As a visual person I have to agree. He showed some of the work they have produced including commercials and infographs. They looked really cool and professional. We also watched a TED talk video titled "How great leaders inspire action" where Simon Sinek talked about human biology and emotions. It was an inspiring video and it's better to see it yourself than me explaining.

Mr. Tuominen also gave us a task to give us an example what kind of work it is to create a commercial. Basically we could choose any product in the existence and create a transcription and moodboard for it. Our group had great fun doing the task. I noticed that it's not so easy to create a perfect moodboard and transcription. We made something but it probably would have to be made again and again and again if it ever were become a commercial just like Tuominen said what happens in real life situations as well. Their writer has to do the story over and over again for their commercials. Moving on to Thursday we had Ronja Salmi giving us a presentation. I had some other stuff happening in my life so I missed most of the presentation but she said about writing that it is possible to copy your earlier work and edit it. It was tempting to recycle my old blog post but I decided that it's not a smart decision! It's good to keep in mind though that professional writers recycle stuff. Our team made great progress this week with our SSM group task. We decided what each one should do and I offered to do a sample of what SSM's new website should look like. After some time playing around in photoshop with different ideas here's what I've been able to do so far;

It's not perfect but a work in progress. I haven't heard my teammates' opinions about it yet so maybe they have some constructive feedback on what to improve. That was it for this week. Unfortunately I didn't have too many thoughts about anything but it happens sometimes. Next time when I'm writing it'll be already March. See you soon.
